The question of using technology and screen exposure in education
You can share your thoughts on the subject in the comments section below.
Katarzyna, you are an expert in child psychology and a head of the EMYS educational team. Can you, please, tell us : is all screen exposure bad for children?
When considering the question of screen exposure, what is important is to know the duration of the time kids spend in front of the screen and the type of content to which they will be exposed to.
Indeed, the digital content available on many digital devices stimulates the pleasure receptors in the child's brain and this can be very addictive for the little ones. This is especially true in the case of non-educational content.
On the other hand, if we limit the exposure time to 20 to 30 minutes a day and, in addition, offer the child engaging and educational content, it will - on the contrary - be beneficial for their development!
At EMYS we have studied the question of the screen in depth and, from the start, we have been creating our content in such a way that the child does not focus on the screen for more than a few minutes at a time. Actually, very often it is even less than that.
Here, in order for the learning to take place in depth, we activate all of the child's 5 senses with the smart toys that come with EMYS. When the child is having fun with EMYS, the screen serves as a context provider that helps your treasure to learn.
Indeed, it is with their robot, their beloved companion, capable of expressing emotions, that your children learn and start to speak in English ! If in doubt, ask the kids!
